I Love Christmas

I love Christmas! You get money you can spend on clothes, gift certicates for clothes stores or clothes! What can be better!? This is the cutest jacket! My parents got me a gift card for Le Chateau and I find this coat on sale for $99.00. The details are priceless! Love the bow in the back. It makes me so happy to wear on a grey and rainy day in Vancouver. I feel like the girl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Violet Beauregarde, in a good not exploding kinda way. Check her out in this clip, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heWF-2ci3wo

I also got a pair of Betsey Johnson heels from my boyfriend. I love them! How cute are these? I am going to where them to the Michael Buble concert January 12th for our anniversary. Very excited!

I also received a new lulu lemon work out top that I am excited about. It has an ipod holder in the back with a way to keep the headphone wires out of the way when you are jogging. Normally I wouldn't blog about something like this but we all know its good to stay in shape and you may as well look good doing it.

Now is is what I call a Fashion Christmas. Hope you all had a very merry and fashionable Christmas too.

Crocs!

Yes I have a thing for shoes. My last blog was about Uggs and this one is about Crocs. I have never owned a pair and never will. I hear they are very comfortable but please people they are ugly and not good for your feet in anyway. I'm not saying that they should be bamed from the planet but when wearing a nice outfit do not ruin it with the Crocs! There has to be just as comfortable shoes that are atleast cute. Even flipflops are cute. These just scare me. Please add these to the not to attempt list! Thanks.

My New Boots

Being that it is the holidays I have been a little slow at adding new posts. Sorry. Also causes its the holidays I bought myself an early gift. For this I thank my grandparents for the Christmas money that has bought me these boots! I am in love. I have worn them for the last 5 days in a row and I can't see that trend ending anytime soon. I have been getting compliments on then everywhere. Which brings me to my next point, UGGS! Why does it seem like every girl in this city has a pair and as soon as a little rain or tiny bit of snow hits, wears them constantly? I personally think that Ugg is shorty for Ugly. I will admit that when they were first popular I went out and bought a knock off pair that I now wear as slippers around my house and down to the laundry room, but the trend is over. I know that everyone will say but their comfy and heels are bad in the rain, but my friends Uggs are not water proof! It much nicer to have a stylish pair of flat leather boots to wear around the city. You can wear them all day and not feel the ache of heels plus you look good. Uggs make everyone look like they have big wide feet, which is not true. So I propose that for 2008 the ladies of this city try a new trend of sleek, stylish yet flat and comfy leather boots. They don't have to have the gold fashy buckles like mine, just something that makes YOU love them!! So Merry Christmas and may Santa fufill all your fashion wishes!

BrrrLesque

So last night I attended Miss Sneaky Kiki's BrrrLesque show at Celebrity's. The whole club had been transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with snow falling from the ceiling! I was practically excited about the vodka snow cones. The show itself was a lot shorter than I was hoping for but it was still very good. The ladies had great costumes and solid performances. There was also some good fashion on viewers.

As you can see above the Sneaky Kiki girls went all out in the Christmas theme. I personally enjoyed the Mrs Claus performance to "Santa Baby" by Madonna, one of my all time favorite Christmas songs.

This was the first picture I took of the night. I really like this girl's vintage dress. The color was not something I would normally like but on her it was perfect. I love all the pleats.

My friend Lucy saved this great jacket from going to the Goodwill. I can't believe the score! I need a goodwill donation box like that in my apartment. I like how the whole outfit is black and white but with all the different texture and layers its not boring.

I purchased this shirt right before the event and I love it! It was warm and I will totally rock it day and night. I may even see if it is long enough to wear with tights underneath instead of skinny jeans.

One of the performers was wearing this fabulous hat and when I asked her she said she got it at a vintage store. I am so jealous, it is perfect! Almost like the one I saw in the Mummy Returns. Also notice the tie up detail in the tail of her skirt. This outfit is very pinup girl. Love it!

I had to include these pictures of the guys, Cory, Ed, and Justin. What does a guy wear to a burlesque show? I am not sure if there is a right answer but I think they did very well.

'30s and '40s inspiration

Well I've been sick most of the weekend so it hasn't been that fashionable but I did watch "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns". Rachel Weisz looks great in these movies and I plan to recreate this make-up as soon as I get a chance. Check out the link for a better picture of the eye make-up. http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0120616/6.html?path=gallery&path_key=0120616&seq=3 Can't wait to wear this out with a great dress. Even her hair is fabulous.

In the Mummy Returns the '30's fashions are amazing. I love the hat/headress that Patricia Velásquez's character is wearing in one of the first scene, it is gorgeous. I will be looking for one on my next thrift store hunt. The whole outfit is stunning. I have been feeling the '30's and '40's for a while now and this movie has only made me want to use peices from them more.

In other new has everyone seen the Sex in the City preview. I know it doesn't show much for plot line but the clothes look beautiful. I for one will definitely be in line for a ticket to see it! Check it out here http://movies.aol.com/movie/sex-and-the-city-2008/30247/video/trailer-no-1/2033774

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Some Old Fashion Photos

Seeing as I am new to the blogging world I thought I would post a bunch of pictures today. Most of them are of me from over the past year in outfits I love!

This picture is of one my favorite dress that I got for $2 at a church bazaar. Its actually a slip but you cant see through it, so its perfect!

We got invited to a Baby Phat fashion show that was happening at Crush Champagne Lounge downtown. It was not as good as it could have been but we had fun and looked good doing it. Plus I got to rock my silver clutch that was a salvation army gem for a dollar!

Attending my friend Mitch's graduation from UBC Film School. Wearing my all time favorite thrift store find. It was really long till I cut off the bottom. Its much more wearable at this length.

This my friend Sarah at the wrap party for "Perfect Child" Looking fly in the way she does. Love the blue tights matching the necklace.

At the same wrap party as Sarah, rocking the flirty mini. This dress is so easy to throw on and feel great in. Well that is a small sampling of some of my personal style photos. Ciao for now.

Fashion Inspiration

I always wonder about where people get their inspiration for an outfit. What made them wear that today and in that way. I have been watching a lot of Sex in the City reruns of the last season and I am in full "Carrie" mode. Which has made getting dresses in the morning a little more difficult but totally worth it. I wore this great "Carrie" dress to my agency's christmas party last sunday and was one of the only people there not wearing black!

I also watched "Funny Face" with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astire this week and it has some awsome costumes in it. Not as good as my favorite Audrey movie ever (Breakfast at Tiffany's) but the wedding dress she wears for the photo shoot scene is amazing. Change the veil and you could wear it now.

In fact most of the outfits for the photo shoot montage are amazing and I would love to get my hands on them.

So keep your eyes open cause you never know what will inspire your next amazing outfit!
