Thursday was my last night of school till September so some of us went out after to celebrate. Steamworks for some food, then off to Chill Wiston for some relaxing drinks. In our last class we had to do a presentation about the Fall '09 trends, and my outfit matches my trends.

Here is what I wore:

Tank: Dynamite $10
Skirt: Vintage, a gift from Taryn
Shoes: Aldo $60
Belt: H&M $15
Earrings: Gift from Jen
Necklace: Sweet 16 gift from my grandmother
Brooch: Le Chateau $5

Midnight Show of Priscilla

Last night the Rio Theatre on Broadway had a midnight showing of my favorite movie of all time, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert! SO I got myself dress-up in "drag" and went down to watch. It was amazing as always! Before the movie there was a live drag show and a impressive girl doing burlseque, she made fire in her hand! IT was a great night and the costumes of all the audience was something I wish I had thought to take pictures of!

Here is what I wore:

Wig: Gift from Iain
Dress: Vintage at C'est la Vie on Main St $40
Shoes: Free from a movie I worked on

I had to get a picture with this lovley lady for two reasons, her dress is amazing and my friend, Nick, thought she was hella cute!

I wish there was an event at least once a month for which I could wear a costume!
Love,
Girl

Dancing, Brunch and a Wolf.

Went dancing at Library Square again last night, what can I say I love the place and the '80's tunes! It was a lot of fun and truly think you should check out, message me and who knows maybe I'll come with you:)

I saw these two girls rocking out on the dance floor and had to get a picture of them. Is that hair band/hair piece not the most amazing thing you have seen all week? Well it gets better, she made it herself! I am super jealous that I can't go out and get the same one. Maybe she'll make me one in hot pinks!

I thought the two of them were super cute and I love that they had the confidence to pull off their own thing. And that is really what fashion is all about.

Here's what I wore:

Dress: Estate Sale $25 (real silk)
Shoes: H&M $40
Earrings: Spring $5
Cuff: Value Village $2
Pose: Just for Matt, who calls it one of my "Tiffanyism"

This morning I met up with a couple of my girls and we had brunch at Joe's Grill on 4th which has just as good food as Sophie's without the line! I had poached eggs, and the works for 6 bucks! I can't wait for next sunday! After bunch it was off to the Kitsilano Farmer's Market which runs every sunday on 10th ave and Larch. It is a great place to get fresh produce, pies, plants, really anything. And not just things that start with a "P". I got BC grown coffee beans, for $10. After the Farmer's Market we head to a local thrift store as I wanted to get a wacky tea cup to use for a plant pot. I ended up with a water jug, with flowers on it. But most important I made friend with this fellow!

Shirt: H&M $15
Belt: Joe Fresh $6
Cuff: Value Village $2
Watch: Yard Sale $1

How awesome is this wolf head? It brings to mind so many questions. Why? Who would buy it? Who bought it the first time? Is it real? They go on and on. Now its home time for so homework and curtain making. Hope you had a great weekend!

Tiger Dress

Last saturday my friend Minh started a new job at Au Bar, so in support we headed over there to check her out. I must say she was looking hot, a good thing for bartending. After a couple drinks a few of us decided to head over to Library Square for a little bit of '80's music. I finally got to wear my vintage 1960's tiger dress that I got a True Value Vintage. I love it, at first it just looks like a print  but if you look closer you will notice it is actually faces of tigers. So amazing! It is made of crushed velvet so it got a little hot while dancing but who cares when the dress is so awesome!

Dress: Vintage, $50
Shoes: Aldo $60
Clutch: Gift from my bro
Earrings: Le Chateau $10
Beer: MGD

My two friends, Marlise and Talyor are also looking fabulous but I don't what they are wearing or where they got it. If you want to know, let me know and I'll find out for you!

PS Thanks for the picture ClubZone!

"The Bohemia Gallery"

STORE OF THE WEEK:

One of the amazing finds I scored on Sunday at the Main St Car Free Day was a red vintage dress from Bohemia Gallery. This store is amazing! Its two stories of vintage gems, and one section upstairs is a new designer who sells from this space. The store is run by a mother and daughter team who I found easy to shop from. They were very helpful, fun and nice. I found the downstairs to be super crowded as it was on Car Free Day but not a lot of people had ventured upstairs, where there were even more amazing gems to be found. The prices all varied but I thought they were in a good range for the quality and styles. There was also a large shoes section and a counter of jewellery. They take cash , debit, visa, the works! I tried on quite few items but not a lot fit me, as its vintage and there is only one of each item.

Then I found my new favorite dress, my Ladybug Dress! It is beautiful, and in my favorite color, so I had to have it. I wore it yesterday to work and then to school after work. A guy at my work said I looked like a ladybug and as I love ladybugs I have named the dress after them. Plus he is right it does kind of look like a ladybug. It is so fun, and a good way to get some of the new big shoulder trend without going over the top and out of my style realm.

Dress: Vintage $20 at Bohemia Gallery
Belt: H&M $15
Shoes: Aldo $60
Purse: Vintage, a gift that a friend also found on Main St one Christmas.
Earrings: Gift from my grandmother
Cuff: Value Village $2
Watch: Yard Sale $1

See the resemblance?

Not only did I find this amazing dress, but I also score a great hot pink bolero jacket that I have yet to wear. My friend, Ali found two great dresses, and my friend, Jen score a perfect hairband. That fact that all three of us has different body types and could all find something we loved makes this store my store of the week.

I seriously suggest you check out The Bohemia Gallery, not only were there amazing pieces to be found but the ladies who run it are so nice and helpful. Take your time and browse the whole place as you never know where your next favorite piece could be hiding. I know I'll be back!

Boutique Opening!

Everyone should check out the grand opening of this new boutique in West Vancouver. It is happening tomorrow and yours truly is trying her hardest to go. Having no car is making it harder but I do not want to miss this opening. It looks like it is going to be amazing. Hopefully I will see you there!

How Cool Are These?

Seriously, how cool are these earrings?

I got them on Sunday at the Car Free Day on Main St. There was a free other location around the city that had car free day as well, but me and some friends decided to check out the Main St one this time. After a lovely breakfast of a ham and cheese omelette at Sophie's Cosmic Cafe, Ali, Jen, and I rode our bikes over to check out the festivities.  It was amazing, there was music, vendors and even bike valets! I urge you to check it out next time. One of the high lights for me was all the vintage stores having sales and the street stalls.

At one of the stalls I pick up these ridiculously cool earrings. Yes, those are Barbie Shoes! I love them! I wore the pink ones to work today with matching pink lipstick and was getting compliments left, right and centre, even from men!

The lovely young lady was selling them for 8 dollars each but I talked into two for 8, I think it was the sun:) If you are interested in a pair, as I am sure you are, you can contact the vendor by the email on her card. I want to know where I can find a pair of the yellow heels in my size. Also she did have many other choice of earrings and styles.

Other than the earrings I scored a couple other amazing finds at the Car Free Day but they are so good I need to spread out the love. Plus I haven't worn them yet and they look so much better with a person in them. Till then here is what I wore on Friday.

Jacket: H&M $15
T-shirt: Gift from NYC
Jeans: Zara $50
Shoes: Aldo $60
Sunglasses: Aldo $12
Hairband: American Apparel $4
Earrings: Aldo $4
Cuff: Value Village $2
Watch: Yard Sale $1

Stripes and Polka Dots part 2

Last time I wrote a post titled "Stripes and Polka Dots" I was wearing them separately in two different outfits. Not this time. This time I went all out in one outfit. I will admit that polka dots, and stripes are two of my favorite things. I love them to death, I will pick up anything that has them on it, and most likely it will come home with me.  So here is what I wore yesterday. Also this outfit just came together because it was laying together on my bed in a pile of clothes and I thought, "Why not?". Does that happen to anyone else? And its awesome when it does.

Top: Le Chateau (gift)
Skirt: Joe Fresh
Shoes: Spring (last summer) $30
Belt: H&M $15
Sunglasses: Aldo $12
Necklace: True Value Vintage $10
Cuff: Value Village $2
Watch: Yard Sale $1(from the golden girls of my neighbourhood)
Pinky Ring: Gift from my grandmother (its a tiny ladybug)

I wear this cuff everyday so I thought a nice close-up it would be great.

I got it at Value Village for $2 and it was the best 2 bucks I ever spent! Plus it makes me always stop and look for the next hidden gem!

I had been looking for an oversized mens watch for a while now but didn't want to pay a lot. Well I got this beauty at the yard sale across from my street for $1!! Plus the ladies selling the stuff were the golden girls, and I love them. Can't wait for them to have another one!

This ring is just fun, my grandmother gave it to me as I love ladybugs. I even have a mini ladybug picture on my wall for good luck. I have had it by the door of every apartment I have lived in. This ring is just one of those fun pieces that I think adds so much to an outfit.

A side note about the pictures of me: Thank you Stephanie for being my at work fashion photographer. She makes me poses and will not take the photo somewhere she thinks is "ugly". Love you!
