"you have really mediocre, mall style. i really have given your blog a chance hoping you'd branch out from dynamite and joe fresh, but you really prove the stereotype that sometimes you can't rely on cheap basics. some people can take basics and pair them with unique pieces to make it work, but you are one le chateau purchase away from a fashion nightmare." Kristen
I was going to click on Kristen and see what she was all about but I could not. Not only has she left my a very hurtful comment but she has left in with out a way that there is no way for me to comment back to her. I do not feel that I have "mediocre, mall style." The comment that hurts the most is the last sentence, I am definitely far from a fashion nightmare. Yes, in the last little while I have been struggling with my style but she does not know why and to be cruel is unnecessary. Plus if you are going to be mean, try not being a chicken about it and let me respond to you.
I recently went through a very stressful time, and I lost a lot of weight. Most of my unmall pieces do not fit me anymore, and being that I am a server and student, I can not afford to replace them all at once. I do not live with my parents with unlimited funds. I have school and rent to pay for before buying pricey unique clothing. Clothes, even though I love them with all my heart, are not everything! So for me to go out and buy all new pieces is not going to happen. At the moment it is mostly basic, like jeans, that I need to replace with ones that fit.
So to Kristen I say I don't want someone like you reading my blog anyways. It is for fun! If you don't like it, all you had to do was not read it again. There was no need to knock a person down, when their already feeling style awkward! Hope you feel good about yourself for leaving mean comments, and have a great day!

Let me say first of all that I salute your courage in posting this negative comment. Most people would just delete and worry about it privately.
Do not let this nastiness get to you! Some people just like to stir things up to get a reaction, which you have now given her.
You have a right to your style, even if someone else thinks it's "mall style". You have a right to post on your blog - no one has to read it, you're not forcing anyone to wear the same things as you do.
Lastly, it's very easy to criticise someone, and it takes 50 positive comments to equal the weight of just one critisim. Try to ignore this negativity. You can always block this person if she comments again.
I am sorry, I dont understand the rude comments people leave sometimes, I just feel like "if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all". By the way, your style is rocking and wish I could dress half as cute as you.
Hi! I always read your blog, but never comment. I'm glad no one's ever left a mean comment on my blog. Seriously, what drives a person to think that they can just spew out whatever crap they want, without having at least the courage to let the victim defend themselves. If they're such great judges of style, then they should back it up.
I do not understand people who leave cruel comments on someone's blog when it is so easy to just click that little red x if you do not like what you see. I think you have great style and that is why I visit your blog. You do not owe anyone any explanation as to why you wear what you wear. I think you look great and I hope you do not let someone else's silliness keep you from sharing your style with the rest of us.
It's sad how some people just can't be satisfied with keeping their negative feelings to themselves. I'm sorry. It always sucks to hear untrue harsh things, and it's never called for. Feel better in knowing that Kristen will probably never live a life outside of her negativity. A small consolation ,but one even still.
Aww, sweetie, don't let some annonymous meanie get to you! I know it is hard to do, but don't give "Kristen" another thought. I think you are truly adorable and always enjoy seeing you pop up in my Google Reader even though I don't think I have ever taken the time to comment. I have received a couple of zinger comments before and they do sting, but honestly people like that are small and obviously raised my wolves with no couth and thus don't deserve your time or energy. Have a great weekend!
some people are just complete jerks. It's sad when they hide behind anonymity to make hurtful comments.
I know it's so easy to say and so hard to do but please don't let what some mean cowardly person dropped in your comment box hurt you.
I have never commented on your blog before but I love it, think your style is great, think you are just adorable and I have to confess that I think I saw you once at metrotown skytrain station but I was too nervous to talk to you! What a geek I am.
Anyhoo I hope whatever you've been dealing with passes soon and that you carry on just as you were with your blog and not give Kristen a second thought.
Hadley
Thank you all so much. It mean so much to me that you would take the time to let me know how you feel. All your positive comments have made my day. I appreciate it more than I can express.
Also Towely, if you see me around town never be afraid to say hi! I would love it!
Girl In The City,
I first came across your blog while peeking at my fabulous cousins' blog "Ohla Cherie". She also happens to be a Vancouver fashionite!
I have to say that blogging that was courageous! I feel with my blog anyhow, that although it's posted for the world to see, it's still very personal. In terms of the fact that I put a lot of creativity into it and my own thoughts and feelings as I'm sure you feel the same about yours. I read your blog all the time & have it favorited as a matter of fact - you're a sweet girl with tons of great things to say! So keep at 'er!
As for 'Kristen' - she should be ashamed to have used her words to tear someone else down. I wonder how she's feeling today - I hope regretfull.
xoxo
P.S. I'm sure 'Kristen' will check your blog again after writing that so - 'Kristen' you're entitled to your oppinion although you're not welcome to express it freely as you please, hurting others along the way. Next time - think before you speak. Most of us are here to have fun - I sincerely hope you do not run into my blog. I would not want people like you reading it anyhow. I hope tommorow is a better day for you ...
i read your blog all the time, and even though i don't really comment (i know i should, but it alway ends up i don't), i just wanted to let you know that your style rocks and that there are probably some jealous women out there! sure, not everyone has the same style or even agrees with each others style, but if she took the time to write out that comment, you know she is just jealous or has some deeper issues! keep everything up because you have a lot of readers that know you can still look stylish even if on a budget!
Kristen must be an ugly person inside to feel the need to just hit-and-run with some nastiness like that. I can't see any other reason to do that.
I love your blog--you've got a great, fun style. And you are so gorgeous! Please keep up your blogging--I love reading and checking out your great, inspirational outfits.
I wouldn't worry about it...even Hot For Words lady Marina has the same problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AbKFC0HwBA
you know I just received my first mean comment yesterday and that I come on your blog and you have a post about receiving a mean one too. what a coincidence. some people are just mean and have nothing better to do except to make other feel crappy about themselves. I cant advise you to stop worrying about it because I would be a hypocrite since I have been greatly affected by my mean comment too. All I will say is that I understand the feeling you get when somebody shuts u down.
xoxo

If you have "mall style" can we please wind up at the same mall because Ann Taylor, Banana Republic and J Crew are my staples and yours are WAY better!
To hell with that wench. You're easily the most fashionable person I've ever met. Which really isn't saying much considering the goons I associate with, but it is meant totally as a compliment!
Hope all is well on the Left Coast, and keep bloggin' away!
Mat
Hey gurl:
Fear not. Insecurity is what causes someone to lash out like that. You are just fine and you take risk with your style. Kudos to you being a student and a server and a fashionista. I have been in the same position as you being hated for revealing my passion. It only makes you want to go that extra mile to leave them in the dust.
Great job handling it.
You are a trooper.
