Tagged 7 songs

Terri from The Conveyor Belt has tagged me so here are the 7 songs I am listening to at the moment. Some are older and some are just not going to last but I like cheesy things so here you go.

1) "4 minutes"- Madonna feat. Justin Timberlake

2) "I Kissed a Girl"- Katy Pary

3) "Mamma Mia"- ABBA

4) "Safe and Sound"- Hawksley Workman

5) "World on A String" Michael Buble

6) "Raise a Little Hell" Trooper

7) "Please Don't Stop the Music" Rhianna

I'm tagging Katie of Everything Old is New Again, Alex of The Glua Report, Natasha of Whimsical Nerd, Camille of Childhood Flames, Anthea of Clothes Line Finds, Lady Language , and Ranna of Only Shallow Have fun!
The rules: “List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.”

Perfect Chair

On my way home from work today I popped into the new Guess store on Robson to discover my dream chair! I want this for my living room so badly. Our home has a black and white theme with pops of red and I think a leopard print chair would be a great piece to add to it. I have talked my man into zebra so I might have to go for that but I love this shape as well. Unfortunately they were not for sale!

Right now I am really into shirts I can wear at work with a pencil skirt for a professional look but that are still me enough to wear after work with jeans.

Jacket: Le Chateau $40
Vest: Sirens $10
Shirt: Winners
Jeans: Old Navy $40
Shoes: Aldo $80
Scarf: Le Chateau $15
Bag: Mexx $24 (outlet)
Earrings: Aldo $10
Cuff: Thrifted at Value Village $2

At work I paired the striped shirt and vest with a black fitted pencil skirt and the cream pumps. I really like how it looked and will definitely wear it again.

Now I am off to get a drink and see the Incredible Hulk with my man.
Cheers,
Girl

Back in the City

I been back in Vancouver for 3 days now and I realized how behind in my blog I was. I am so sorry. Let me quickly get this back up to speed. I have a few outfits and a few things that have happened since the last time I updated this blog.
This is the outfit I wore to my friend Dusty's birthday two weekends ago. We headed out for Mexican food with plans to maybe going dancing but five of us ended up just drinking and talking and enjoying each others company. It was a great night

Jacket: Le Chateau (gift)
Shirt: American Apparel $15
Vest: Sirens $10
Jeans: Old Navy $40
Shoes: Aldo $20 (on sale)
Necklace: Aldo $10
Clutch: Gift from my man's parents from Spain
Next it was off to Edmonton where we were BUSY the whole time.
First it was off to my man's bro's grad from U of A. Above you see my man, his mom (looking fabulous, those are vintage shoes that she wore to her own graduation from University), his uncle and his dad. A dapper looking group!
Next we got to see my cousin's new baby. So CUTE!!
Followed by my other cousin's high school graduation.
All the ladies and all the man. Everyone was looking great and it was a great day.

Vintage Dress: $40 from Erin Templeton's Store
Belt: Joe Fresh at Superstore $6
Cuff: Thrifted at Value Village $2
Clutch: Gift from my man's parents from Spain
Earrings: gift from the pride parade in Vancouver
Pumps: Aldo $80
We followed up the ceremony with a family BBQ. Some great food and a few games of bean bag.
Well thats all for now but I will be back very very soon! Like tomorrow! Cheers:)

Sex and The City

This movie may have been the biggest female blockbuster ever. I do not have proof of this but I would wager a lot on that being a fact. Okay, I will guess that maybe "Gone with the Wind" was a bigger "chick flick" but not in this generation! I was there and I was dressed for it! As were 90% of the other women who were there. It was amazing to see that many well dressed woman in one place. This movie sold out for the whole weekend in Vancouver before it even opened! I personally was so excited to see it I bought tickets on the wednesday before! Its not just that I wish I lived in New York City, and yes more specifically Manhattan, yes I wish I had her wardrobe, and I have always wanted to be a fashion writer so my heart is close to Carrie's being a writer too, but it is also that a lot of my friends refer to me as the "Carrie" of our group. If you disagree that is totally understandable but I have to say it makes me feel like I can be even more creative with my clothes. Here is the first outfit for "Sex and the City" day.

Tank Top: American Apparel $free from a modeling job
Vest: Sirens $10.00
Pants: Winners $40.00
Shoes: Thrifted at Value Village $9.00
Earrings: Spring $7.00
Necklace: Thrifted at Value Village $1.00
Flower: (Just for Carrie) Le Chateau $9.00
Cuff: Thrifted at Value Village $2.00
Ring: True Value Vintage $5.00
Purse: Thrifted on Main St, by my friend Dusty, Christmas gift
And this is what I wore to the movie. Now I have to point out that this picture was taken at 1:30 in the morning and that I cried at the movie, so yes I am pale and washed out but the outfit is great!
Jacket: Le Chateau $30.00
Dress: Thrifted at Mintage for $30.00
Shoes: Aldo $40.00 (my 25th birthday present to myself)
Flower: Le Chateau $9.00
Purse: Thrifted on Main St
It was a great movie and I will see it again, and buy it when it comes out but I almost wish they had left it alone. Parts of it were sad, I will not ruin it for those of you who ave not seen it but I cried. I think that the way the show finished was perfect. It was such a great finish with Carrie saying "But if you find someone to love the you, you love...well thats just fabulous" that I personally don't think the movie was needed. I loved the clothes and I loved the girls but I would have been just as happy if it had ended with her phone ringing and saying "John"
